A framework for multi-core schedulability analysis accounting for resource stress and sensitivity

Abstract Timing verification of multi-core systems is complicated by contention for shared hardware resources between co-running tasks on different cores. This paper introduces the Multi-core Resource Stress and Sensitivity (MRSS) task model that characterizes how much stress each places it sensitive to such resource stress. facilitates a separation concerns, thus retaining advantages traditional two-step approach timing (i.e. analysis followed schedulability analysis). Response time derived MRSS model, providing efficient context-dependent context independent tests both fixed priority preemptive non-preemptive scheduling. Dominance relations are tests, along with complexity results, proofs optimal assignment policies. The underpinned proof-of-concept industrial case study. problem allocation considered in Simulated Annealing shown provide an effective solution.
